Jakob Erdheim, in his later years, wearing rubber gloves, white shirt, dark tie, white gown partly covered by a black apron behind a table holding surgical instruments and a brain.

A version cropped to show only the upper half of the image is used as the standard portrait of Erdheim. The full image, with the brain on the dissection plate and Erdheim’s instruments on a table, is rare and can be found in the memorial book of Lainz Hospital.
